'the adventures of a thirty-ish university graduate' or, alternately and perhaps much more aptly: 'as mad as a barking fox'

you got me in a spin but everything's a-ok

ashley and i drift around the kitchen, trying to find things to do. i finally settle on the dishes. most of them aren't mine, but i toss the notion of separating them out and only doing half of them from my mind. it's easier to just do things all at once.

"fuck!" ashely's voice drifts into my world from caitlin's room, where she's staring intently at the television. "bush won alaska."

all hopes for a brighter and better future are currently going down the pan. in the words of famous royalty- we are not amused.

Let us at least be thankful that Dubya can't have anymore than two terms. Mind you, that's two terms to many in his case...

so now that bush has unofficially won the election, i, as a canadian, am feeling very insecure. i mean, this guy has showed the world a relentless barage of stupidity in his first four years that anybody, anywhere could be the next target of his illogical and, quite frankly, irresponsible ire. what if he decides that canadians are not as enlightened as he hoped we were or if he suspects that our bilingualism might turn us into terrorists? the next thing you know dubya is straddling the cannon of a sherman tank as it rolls up parliament hill stomping the ottawa university campus enroute with a ferocity unheard of in canada since the war of 1812. so get out there now kiddies. spend all those dollars remaining on your cafeteria card. the armageddon is upon us and we just might be first on the list. better yet, start writing evangelical notes to dubya, begging for mercy.
